"Controversies in Medicine and Neuroscience: Through the Prism of History, Neurobiology, and Bioethics (2023) is well worth reading and studying. It should be standard on all doctor’s bookshelves and among the interested laymen."

Essential Clinical Methods in Paediatrics

Clinical skills have been on the decline over the past many years. This book is an easy-to-read effort at the essential but in-depth approach (with explanations) to patient information generation (History and Physical Examination) and the correct documentation (and presentation) of such in a standardised format. It also guides on how to engage in the follow-up analytical and logically derived appropriate conclusions, the diagnosis.

To the trainee (medical undergraduate and paediatric postgraduate), it exposes them to the fundamentals of clinical practice skills helping them self-develop their skills thereby guaranteeing a resultant success in practice and Clinical examinations.

To the clinicians and trainers, this is their trusted companion to imbue them with the necessary confidence in their clinical practice and training needs.

Dr Egbuna Olakunle Obidike graduated from Government College Umuahia, Nigeria in 1975, and the University of Nigeria Nsukka’s College of Medicine in 1981. He has been an external examiner at some medical schools in Nigeria, and is also an examiner of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

“I commend the effort put into this book […] I consider the book a must-have in all medical schools and training institutions, not only in Nigeria but also in other parts of the world.”

“This excellent manuscript surely contributes to medical education in our environment and beyond.”
Hamidu Ahmed, OON, MD, DTCH, FMCPaed, MD
Professor of Paediatrics at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Nigaria, and Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria

“This is a painstaking and detailed write-up that sets out to improve the understanding and application of clinical tools. The book has, in my judgement, presented in detail what to do, why and how best to do what has to be done in a clinical setting. If the trainee correctly absorbs and applies the concepts embodied in the book, the standard of the end product will be enhanced to the advantage of the quality of practice and standard of care. It will also go a long way in assisting the trainers.”
Professor Angela Okolo
Professor of Paediatrics and Consultant Neonatologist, Federal Medical Center, Nigeria
