Professor Young Woon Ko

Dr Young Woon Ko is a Professor of Religious Studies at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio, USA. He teaches courses on introduction to world religions, the study of religion, religion in America, religion and science, and eastern philosophy. His research areas include comparative religion, East Asian religions, philosophical theology, and history and critical theories of religion.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Hanshin University, South Korea, his Master of Divinity degree from Boston University, USA, his Master of Theology degree from Harvard Divinity School, USA, and obtained his doctorate in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University, USA.

He is the author of several books including Understanding Religious Diversity: A Journey into Religions of the World, Jung on Synchronicity and Yijing: A Critical Approach, and The Beauty of Balance: A Theological Inquiry into Paradox. He is currently writing another book with the working title of The Book of Changes and the Non-hierarchical Way: Toward the Meeting of East and West.
