Professor Vasilii Erokhin

Vasilii Erokhin is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics and Management at Harbin Engineering University, China. He holds a PhD degree in Economics and Management (2006) and a Specialist degree in International Economics (2003) from Stavropol State Agrarian University, Russia. His spheres of scientific interest include international trade, globalization, trade integration and liberalization, sustainable development, food security issues with a focus on emerging markets, developing countries, and economies in transition.

Vasilii is the author of over 150 scientific works in international economics, international trade, sustainable rural development, and regionalization, including six books, 10 monographs, and over 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. He is an editor of Global Perspectives on Trade Integration and Economies in Transition (2016) and Establishing Food Security and Alternatives to International Trade in Emerging Economies (2017). He is also an author of the series International Trade from a Russian Perspective (2014), published online by HSTalks, UK.

He is a Guest Editor of Economies' special issue on “Towards Agro-food Economics and Rural development Challenges and Perspectives in Competitive Economies”; an Academic Editor at the Asian Journal of Economics, Business and Accounting; an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of World Economic Research, the Journal of Economics and Trade, the Journal of the Knowledge Economy, the Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Systems View across Time and Space, and the Journal of Technology, Innovation and Education; and a member of the Editorial Review Board of the International Journal of Sustainable Economies Management, the International Journal of Social Ecology and Sustainable Development, and Economics of Agriculture (Ekonomika poljoprivrede).

He holds honorary awards from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (2010) and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2012). Vasilii also won the 3rd All-Russian competition of business ideas and projects “Creation of Future Russia” for his project “Efficiency Increasing of the Regional Entrepreneurship in the Conditions of the World Trade Organization Accession” and is a scholarship holder of Vladimir Potanin’s Charity Fund among young teachers (2009). Since 2016, Vasilii has also been a researcher at the Center for Russian and Ukrainian Studies and at the Polar Development and Northeast Asian Economic Research Center, both at Harbin Engineering University, and a Specially Invited Expert at the Association of International Economics and Trade of Heilongjiang Province, China.
