Dr Uroš Pinterič is Full Professor in the field of political science and Jean Monnet Chair at the Faculty of Organisation Studies in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, and at the Department of Political Science at Trnava University, Slovakia. In the past, he has held various academic positions including Research Fellow in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.
His primary area of research is in the field of regional development, but he also regularly contributes to the fields of public administration, information society and societal development. He is the author of numerous articles in high impact journals, book chapters in edited volumes, and monographs.
He was the founding editor of the journals IIASS and Challenges of the Future, and chair of the program committee of the Governance in (Post)transition annual conference. He has been a guest lecturer at numerous European universities, including the Technical University Wien (Austria), Comenius University Bratislava (Slovakia), Siauliai University (Lithuania), the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest (Romania), the National University of Public Service in Budapest (Hungary), and the Anglo-American University in Prague.
Between 2011 and 2015 he was the chair of the supervisory board at the Faculty of Organisation Studies in Novo Mesto, and he has held various other administrative positions such as vice-dean, member of the academic council, and member of the academic senate. He is also a member of the Research Excellency Network, established by Siauliai University.
