Umesh Laddi is Professor and Chair in the Department of Chemistry, CIT-Gubbi, Tumkur, India. After receiving his PhD in 1998 from Karnataka University, Dharwad, India, he served as a researcher and developer in numerous different areas for various industries for 11 years. He has published more than 25 research articles in various journals, is an editorial board member for five international journals, and reviewer for 15 national and international journals. He is life member of the Indian Society For Technical Education and a member of the International Society for Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic acids.
He blogs regularly on synthetic organics, FDA approvals, clinical approvals, and drug discovery and development on his blog Med-Chemist, and until recently was a regular contributor in the fields of Life Sciences to the Netline Corporation US blog Blognotion. His areas of research interest include synthesis, characterisation, pharmacological, and biological activities of heterocyclic compounds and metal complexes. Two candidates have registered for doctoral degree under his supervision.
