Professor Trisha Dunning is the Chair in Nursing in the Centre for Quality and Patient Safety Research, School of Nursing and Midwifery at Deakin University Barwon Health Partnership, Australia. She is widely published in books and journals and serves on the editorial and review boards of several peer-reviewed journals. She is a past Vice President of the International Diabetes Federation and a current Board Member of Diabetes Victoria.
She has received many awards for her work such as an Honorary Life Membership of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association and Distinguished Life Fellowship of the Australian College of Nursing, and she was also made a Member of the Order of Australia for her contribution to diabetes care and nursing. Her research focus concerns diabetes and older people and diabetes and palliative and end of life care. She has won quality awards for this work.
In her spare time, Trisha writes literary fiction and cares for her alpacas and West Highland White Terrier, Flora.
