Dr Trinanjan Basu completed both his MBBS and MD (Radiation Oncology) at Calcutta University in 2010. He then undertook his senior residency at India’s leading cancer hospital, Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, training in different site and domain-specific oncology for 2 and a half years. He has been working as a radiation oncologist for the last 7 years and has the required training and expertise in all available technologies. He is currently working as a consultant radiation oncologist in Mumbai, and head and neck cancer, brain tumors, SBRT and quality of life issues are very close to his heart.

He has more than 20 publications in indexed peer-reviwed journals and has also written a number of book chapters, and is a reviewer for international journals and an editorial committee member of leading publishing houses. He achieved honours in various academic subjects while in MBBS, including a gold medal and a university medal, both in the subject area of community medicine. He received a Neil-Joseph fellowship in the field of MD-radiotherapy to be observed at a centre of excellence in India. Later on in his professional career, he also received two European society grants: the ESTRO Mobility Grant at the Institut Gustave Roussy in Paris, France, and the ESMO Translational Research Grant at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria.
