Professor Triant Flouris

Aviation Policy

Hellenic American University

Triant Flouris is Provost and University Professor at the Hellenic American University in Athens, Greece and Nashua, USA. Prior to joining the Hellenic American University, he served as a faculty member, program director, department chair, and dean in universities in the United States and Canada. His most recent position was Dean of the School of Aviation Sciences at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, USA, and he previously worked at Auburn University, USA, Concordia University, Canada, and San Jose State University, USA.

His areas of expertise include education management; aviation safety, human factors and risk management; international aviation policy and governance; and strategic management and project management.

Triant has served as Governing Council Member of the Transportation Research Forum, a member of the Board of Trustees for the University Aviation Association, a Member of the Board of the City University of New York, York College Foundation, and an Advisory Board Member for Seneca College, Canada. He is a Research Associate for the Norman Mineta Transportation Research Institute and an instructor for IATA-ITDI. He has also served as alternate representative of the Republic of Cyprus to the International Civil Aviation Organization and advisor to its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on issues of international aviation policy.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), an Advisory Board Member for the City University of New York Aviation Institute, and Professional Aviation Board of Certification (PABC). He also serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Civil Aviation, the Journal of Enterprise Resource Management, the Journal of Air Transportation, the International Journal of Professional Aviation Training and Testing Research, and the Journal of Aviation Security Management. He is a reviewer in several transportation and aviation journals and the author of over 200 publications in areas such as aviation risk management, aviation policy, aviation strategic management, and aviation project management.

In addition, Triant is a licensed commercial pilot and certified flight and ground instructor with over 8,000 hours of flight time.
