Sukanchan Palit, MChE, is a chemical engineer by training and profession, and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, India. He obtained his BChE in Chemical Engineering in 1992 and his MChE in 1994 in Chemical Engineering, both from Jadavpur University, India. He has 23 years of experience in the fields of industry, teaching and research. His research areas are primarily in environmental engineering, advanced oxidation processes, ozonation, multi-objective optimization, genetic algorithm, and other branches of chemical engineering.

He has undertaken research at Queen’s University Belfast, UK, and taught at Salalah College of Technology, Oman. He has also done research at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in the field of membrane science and adsorption. At Queen’s University Belfast, he was involved in a research project concerning the ozonation of dye in a bubble column reactor. He has published numerous papers in scientific journals and nine chapters in books released by renowned publishing houses.
