Dr Shikha Thakur

Shikha Thakur is a doctor in Forest Pathology from The Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, Uttarakhand and holds an MSc in Microbiology from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidhyalaya, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. She holds about ten years of experience in her field of research and is presently working as an Assistant Professor at Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her expertise is in the characterisation of plant pathogens, fungi, bacteria, plant microbiome, host-pathogen interaction, soil-borne fungal phytopathogens, foliar pathogens and their control through fungal antagonists, biocontrol formulations and biofumigation. 

She has approximately 16 publications in international and national journals, in addition to one book and two book chapters. She has guided two undergraduate and one postgraduate student and helped in writing dissertation reports. Aside from this, she has been invited to speak and present at a number of national and international conferences, seminars and workshops and is an active member of scientific societies including the Indian Science Congress Association, the Indian Phytopathological Society, Research Gate and The Society of African Journal Editors.
