Saurabh Sonwani

Saurabh Sonwani is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Environmental Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. He has more than five years of research experience in the field of Atmospheric Sciences. He was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (CSIR-JRF) by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research in the subject of Earth, Atmospheric, Planetary and Ocean Sciences in 2012. He also qualified from the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in the subject of Environmental Sciences, conducted by the Government of India, in 2012, and was awarded the reputed Fall Meeting student travel grant to attend the American Geophysical Union's (AGU) 2017 Fall Meeting in New Orleans, USA.

He completed his MPhil (Environmental Sciences) at Jawaharlal Nehru University and his MSc (Environmental Sciences) from Banaras Hindu University, India. Currently he is participating in a group working in Carbonaceous Aerosol and Rainwater Chemistry. He has also worked on Organic Pollutants [such as Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)] and Trace Metals. He has written several book chapters and research papers in reputed journals such as Current Science, AAQR (under review) and APR (under review) in the areas of air pollution, global warming, air pollution exposure assessment, and its impact on human and plant health. He has a monograph under contract with Springer, to be published in 2018.

Saurabh is a lifetime member of several scientific communities such as AOGS, AGU, VIBHA, IASTA and SAC-BARC. He has also presented several papers/posters in several reputed international and national conferences and workshops such as AOGS, AGU, DUST, IASTA, IGU, NSSS, AsiaFlux, RAER, and CC. In addition, he has worked as a trainer and volunteer in several workshops, training programs and conferences since 2010.
