Saheb Pal is currently pursuing a PhD at the Division of Vegetable Science, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He gained his B.Sc. in Horticulture with honours and a University Gold Medal from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia in 2014. He qualified from ICAR-JRF and got his M.Sc. (Horticulture)-Vegetable Science degree with University Gold Medal from Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh in 2016. During his Master’s degree, he worked on the genetic improvement of cucumber. For his outstanding Master’s research, he was awarded with the Er. JP Gupta Memorial All India Best Research Award (2017) by the Society for Advancement of Human and Nature (SADHNA), Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He is a life member SADHNA, too. To date, he has published 16 research papers in reputed journals, four book chapters and several popular articles. He is a member and reviewer of the International Journal of Agriculture Sciences, published by Bioinfo Publications. Recently he was bestowed with the ‘Award of Excellence-Best Student Award-2018’ at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru.
