Professor Raymond Chan

Dr Raymond K. H. Chan is Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at City University of Hong Kong, and Research Fellow at the Risk Society and Policy Research Centre, National Taiwan University. He is also a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. His major research interests are risk and social policy, comparative social policy in East Asia, and family and labor policies.

He has authored and edited more than 10 books, including Gender, Migration and Care in East Asia (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018), New Life-Courses, Social Risks and Social Policy in East Asia (Routledge, 2016), Social Issues and Policies in Asia: Families, Ageing and Work (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2014), and Risk and Public Policy in East Asia (Routledge, 2010). His articles have also appeared in Critical Social Policy, the International Journal of Social Welfare, International Social Work, the Journal of International & Comparative Social Welfare, the Journal of Social Work, Social Indicators Research, Social Policy & Administration, and Social Policy & Society.
