Dr Ramachandra Naik

Dr Ramachandra Naik is a materials science researcher and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore, India. He obtained his BSc degree from Karnataka University, India, and MSc in Physics from Bangalore University, India. After his MSc he worked as an Assistant Professor and pursued his PhD at Bharathiar University, India.

His research interests are primarily in the preparation and characterizations of nanomaterials. He also studies luminescence properties of doped nanomaterials. He has prepared different rare earth and transition metal ions, doped oxides and silicates, and many more for the application of different color light emitting display devices and all solid state lighting applications. In addition, Ramachandra has presented papers at national and international conferences and has published a few book chapters with reputed publishers in India. He is a reviewer for international journals such as Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Bentham Science Publishers), and is a member of professional bodies including the Electrochemical Society of India and the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Society.
