Dr Polona Petek

Film Studies

Dr Polona Petek graduated from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, with a degree in Comparative Literature, and earned a PhD in Film Studies from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She is now a researcher and lecturer in Film Studies at the University of Ljubljana. Polona is the author of Echo and Narcissus: Echolocating the Spectator in the Age of Audience Research (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2008). Her articles have been published in journals such as Studies in European Cinema, New Review of Film and Television Studies, and the Journal of Contemporary European Studies. Her recent work focuses on the issues of transnationalism, cosmopolitanism and mobility in cinema, particularly the ways these issues intersect with the issue of gender in Slovenian and European cinemas.
