Dr Penchala S. Mittadodla

Penchala S Mittadodla received hismedical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India in 2002. He worked in the UK for seven years before moving to the United States for further training in pulmonology and critical care. Penchala subsequently became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) after hisbasic surgical training, and was also was trained in the emergency department as a Senior House Officer and Registrar for three years while in the UK. With my diverse training in emergency medicine, surgical specialties, internal medicine, pulmonology and critical care medicine, he has taken up the director role for the medical intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, AR.

During his training in the United States in pulmonology and critical care, he also developed a passion to research adult cystic fibrosis. He was instrumental in setting up a multidisciplinary clinic and has now taken up the role of director of an adult cystic fibrosis clinic in Northwest Arkansas. In addition to this, he is also on the leadership board for the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the cystic fibrosis foundation and a member of European Cystic Fibrosis Society. He has been a keynote speaker at several fundraisers for the cystic fibrosis foundation.

Penchala is a Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP) and of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). He has worked on several research projects including “Utilization of CTPA for diagnosis of pulmonary embolism” at St. Luke’s University Hospital, “Impact of vaccination on influenza related mortality and morbidity” at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and projects for the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.
