Pedro Carmona Marques received his MEng in Industrial Engineering in 1996, and his MEng in Engineering Physics and PhD in Engineering Design and Advanced Mnaufacturing in 2012 from the MIT Portugal Program. Subseqeuent to this he worked automotive industry for a year, an associate quality engineer at CERN (Geneva) for two years, and finally a research technician at a nuclear institute for six years. In academia he has been an Invited Adjunct Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Lisbon and Leiria (in a total of six and a half years). Currently he is an Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management at Lusophone University and an Invited Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Aveiro.
Pedro has served as a reviewer for journals in the fields of cleaner production and manufacturing, technology management, and innovation and creativity. His main research activities include but are not limited to product development, manufacturing, and engineering design, and he has published more than ten papers in his fields of expertise in international journals and conferences. He is a member of the Design Society, the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society, and has been Chartered Engineer with the Portuguese Engineers Association since 1998.
