Dr Muhammad U. Shafique

Muhammad Umer Shafique is Assistant Professor at the UOL Department of Chemistry, University of Lahore, Pakistan. He completed his doctorate in chemistry with the highest distinction at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg, and the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research (UFZ), Germany. He has authored/co-authored 35 research articles in renowned international journals and has more than 800 citations. His research interests are in physical chemistry with a special interest in surface chemistry, emerging pollutants and their physicochemical properties, fate and behavior of pollutants/chemicals in biotic and abiotic compartments, environmental monitoring and remediation strategies, and systematic relationship between the molecular structure of compounds and their fate in various partitions using both experimental techniques and theoretical models (computational chemistry).
