Dr Merja Myllylahti

Dr Merja Myllylahti is a Research Fellow at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand. She is also a Project Manager and an author at the AUT’s research center for Journalism, Media and Democracy, and has published multiple media ownership reports for the center. Her main research interests are in the fields of digital journalism and media economics, and her main research areas are in news companies’ revenue models, digital transformation and pay systems.

Her academic papers have been published in Digital Journalism, Journalism Studies and the Pacific Journalism Review, and book chapters in the Routledge Companion to Digital Journalism Studies (Routledge, 2017) and Themes and Critical Debates in Contemporary Journalism (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017). Her forthcoming publications include chapters in books published by Routledge, Wiley and Oxford University Press..
