Dr Marius Turda

History of Eugenics and Race

Marius Turda is Reader in 20th Century Biomedicine and Director of the Centre for Medical Humanities at Oxford Brookes University. He is Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and of Galton Institute.

He was the founding director of the Cantemir Institute at the University of Oxford (2012-13). He is Editor of CEU Studies in the History of Medicine and has published extensively on the history of eugenics and race. His most recent books include Historicizing Race (2018) (together with Maria Sophia Quine) and Scientific Racism in Hungary (forthcoming 2019). He is the general editor of a 6-volume series on A Cultural History of Race to be published by Bloomsbury (2020-).
