Luiz Moutinho is the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow in Scotland. He has been a Full Professor for 24 years, and has held 19 Visiting Professorship positions at academic institutions worldwide. One of Luiz’s primary areas of academic research is related to modelling processes of consumer behaviour. He has developed a number of conceptual models over the years in areas such as tourism destination decision processes, automated banking, supermarket patronage, among other areas. Other current areas of research interest are Neuroscience in Marketing, Marketing Futurecast, Futures Research and human-computer interface.
Luiz has published 129 refereed academic journal articles and 26 books. He is the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Modelling in Management (JM2), and has another 4 Associate Editorships as well as being on the Editorial Boards of another 44 international academic journals.
In his youth, Luiz was a drummer in 4 very popular bands in Portugal. Now, in his later life, he truly loves his work and the global travel that accompanies it. Luiz also is a keen animal lover and is enthusiastic about their welfare. He plans to leave his estate to 5 animal charities that rescue animals worldwide.
