Lisa Baird is an Assistant Professor of English, having received her doctorate from Texas Christian University, USA. Her doctoral dissertation considered the convergence of words and images in new media. She teaches full time at Flagler College in St. Augustine, USA. Her areas of concentration include creative nonfiction, fiction writing, world literature, the Bible as literature, and cyberliteracy.
A background in freelance writing and film production informs her academic career. Stories and pictures, words and images have always fascinated her. Lisa’s love of the two forms led her to pursue a career in film production. When she pursued academic interests, her background in writing and film informed her critical study of the merging of words and pictures.
Her recent book published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Eloquent Design: Essays on the Rhetorics of Vision, resulted from her study of the mix of stories and pictures. She is currently working on a dystopian novel for young adults.
