Dr Lakhan Bainsla

Lakhan Bainsla is currently a Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) fellow at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR) of Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. He obtained his PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai, India in 2016 before assuming his research role at Tohoku University. His main research interests include spintronic materials and devices, Heusler alloys, magnetic tunnel junctions, antiferromagnetic materials and laser induced magnetization dynamics. He has authored over 20 papers including a one review article, book chapter and patent. He has given many paper and poster presentations at major international conferences across the US, Europe and Asia, and received the awards for his PhD thesis work from IIT Bombay and his JSPS fellowship from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences. He serves as an active reviewer for many journals from the American Physical Society, the American Institute of Physics, and the Institute of Physics.
