Krenar Ibrahimi is Professor at the Global Humanistic University in Curaçao, Netherlands, where he also serves as a PhD advisor. He obtained his PhD in Management from the University of Tirana in 2014 with an interdisciplinary thesis on port economics, governance, administration, and management entitled 'The institutional and operational seaport development, organization and performance on conceptual and contextual bases: A reflection on the seaport of Durrës'.
After receiving awards at the National Olympiad of Mathematics for his high school seniors, Krenar began his studies in higher education in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, where after two years he was selected by the Government of Albania to continue his studies in France. He received an MSc equivalent in Management from the Université de Bordeaux in 2000, and prior to this a Magistère of Industrial Minerals and Materials (Production Engineering equivalent) from the Université d’Orléans between 1991 and 1994, and an MPhil equivalent in DEA of Condensed and Diluted Matter in 1994.
Krenar has published 27 papers since 2004, with 21 papers in his doctoral research field, and six papers in the proceedings of renowned conferences, such as the World Conference on Transport Research in 2016 and 2019. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous journals and publishers and is a member of the WCTR, IAME, ICLST, and IMAM.
Krenar has lectured for 20 years at public and private universities in Albania in both engineering and management studies. Aside from his interdisciplinary doctoral research, his interests embrace strategic and operations management, including services, performance and quality, as well as electoral systems and theories of the firm.
