Dr Kiran Singh is a Senior Lecturer of Biology, specialising in Zoology and Parasitology, at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Nigeria. She received her BSc, MSc and PhDs degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, India. Her research interests focus on the control of infectious parasitic diseases by controlling their vectors. In addition, she has made numerous contributions to understanding the modes of action of plant-derived molluscicides, and has also contributed to the knowledge of drug interaction and their comparative effectiveness.
She was awarded with the status of Junior Research Fellow in 1996, and she was a Fellow of the Department of Biotechnology, India. After her early career as a Lecturer in India, she joined her husband in Nigeria, where she accepted the position of Lecturer at Usmanu Danfodiyo University. In addition to teaching, Kiran is a regular contributor to the scientific world and has published many papers in the fields of toxicology, parasitology and pharmacology in journals of international repute.
Kiran currently teaches in Department of Biological Sciences at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, and is also Visiting Associate Professor at other universities in Nigeria. She is an active member of many departmental, national and international organizations. She serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for various scientific journals.
