Khaled Ghaedi

Khaled Ghaedi has experience in both the academic and industry fields, and is currently a Research Assistant at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Over the course of more than 11 years of career growth, he has built his core foundation through his involvement in several business projects, holding different positions including Research Assistant, Assistant Lecturer, Structural Engineer, Site Engineer, Head of Material QC, and Head of Materials Laboratory.

He has considerable practical experience with multiple structural software including STAAD suite, CSI suite, RAM suite, Adapt suite, Dessult System software such as ABAQUS and Solidworks, and others. As an advocate of knowledge sharing, he has also been invited to speak in conferences and seminars, and at the same time has been involved in several other high ranked international conferences as a committee member.

Khaled is a member/fellow of many renowned institutes and organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the ASCE Standards Committee ASCE/SEI 7, the ASCE Integrated Buildings & Structures Committee, the World Symposium on Civil Engineering (co-chair and member), the Board of Engineers Malaysia, the Structural Engineering Institute Dues (SEI) of the ASCE, and the Building Associate Organization of Hormozgan Province, Iran.

In addition, Khaled has contributed to the process of knowledge sharing through his roles as editorial member or reviewer of journals including the Bulletin of Earthquake Engineering, the Latin American Journal of Solids and Structures, the Journal of Applied Water Science, the Civil Engineering Journal, Cogent Engineering, the American Journal of Civil Engineering, and the Journal of Trends In Civil Engineering and Material Science.

He is also author of more than 20 peer-reviewed journals, one book, one book chapter and holder of a patented idea. Finally, His current research interest is earthquake engineering, vibration engineering, dam engineering, structural dynamics, passive control systems and bridge engineering.
