Dr Katherine Russo

Dr Katherine E. Russo, PhD (University of New South Wales, Australia), is a Tenure Track Lecturer/Researcher in English Language and Translation at the Università degli studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”, Italy. She has published numerous articles and edited several volumes in the fields of discourse analysis and critical discourse analysis, terminology and discourse, language variation and change, world Englishes, translation studies and audiovisual translation studies.

She is the author of Practices of Proximity: The Appropriation of English in Australian Indigenous Literature (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2010), winner of the 2012 ESSE Book Award, and of Global English, Transnational Flows: Australia and New Zealand in Translation (Tangram Edizioni Scientifiche, 2012). She is a member of the Board of the European Association for Studies of Australia.

She has been a member of the Management Committee of the European Programme - COST Action IS1101 “Climate change and migration: knowledge, law and policy, and theory” and has participated as a researcher in several European and National Projects on EFL Teaching English (among which are Tempus Project – TETRAI, Erasmus + Project SBATEYL and Progetto Formazione a Distanza).
