Professor Kakandikar Marotrao

Kakandikar Ganesh Marotrao is Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Dr. V. D. Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, India. He completed his PhD in mechanical engineering from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded, India, in 2014.

He has 19 years of research and teaching experience, and has authored three books and over 60 widcely cited articles and book chapters in national and international publications. Furthermore, Kakandikar has reviewed for many prominent journals, and has both organised and chaired various international conferences. He is a professional member of numerous societies, including the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making and the International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization. Working with his industry, his work has focused on the optimization of automative components, work which has led to several awards including the prestigious Indo Global Engineering Excellence Award in 2015. 

Kakandikar regularly writes columns in the Indian print media on the national education and its reform, and is widely respected both for his academic and non-academic writing.
