Professor Jerry Hollingsworth

Dr Jerry W. Hollingsworth is a Professor of Sociology and Criminology at McMurry University in Abilene, USA. Jerry has a BA in Sociology from McMurry University, a Master of Science degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, USA, and a Doctorate in Education from Nova Southeastern University, USA.

He has spent the past 14 years traveling to developing countries researching and observing various social conditions in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. He has published three books: Children of the Sun: An Ethnographic Study of the Street Children of Latin America; The Social Problems of Children in Sub-Saharan Africa and Native America in the 21st Century.

Jerry has also published numerous articles and studies on social problems of children and their development, as well as articles on criminology. His most recent research and emphasis has been on the social problems of Native Americans.
