Dr Isabel Borges

Isabel Mota Borges has a PhD in human rights law and environment-related migration from the University of Oslo's Faculty of Law, Norway. She is currently Adjunct Associate Professor at the Norwegian Business School (BI) and lecturer and guest researcher at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Law, specializing on International Human Rights, European/EEA law, International Environmental Law, International Migration Law, and Business and Human Rights.

She previously worked for more than 10 years at the European Commission and for several grassroots organisations in Brussels and still acts as a Legal Expert for DG Internal Market. She has extensive experience with various development initiatives, transnational research projects, strategic dialogue and capacity building including fundamental rights, gender equality, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, migration, health, poverty, social inclusion and ethics and technology.

Isabel is a legal graduate Cand/LicJur from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, holds an LLM in International Law and International Relations from the University of Kent, UK, and is a member of the Portuguese Law Society. In 2014, she was a visiting scholar at Georgetown University in Washington DC, USA. She is currently leading research and training on the Governance Group's 2018-2021 Angola Human Rights Project.
