Dr Hrayr Attarian is a Professor of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, USA. He received his education at the American University of Beirut (receiving his BSc in 1988 and his MD in 1992), and then trained as a neurologist at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, USA, followed by an Epilepsy/Neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Rochester, USA, and a sleep medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota, USA.
He is an active clinician focusing on adult patients with sleep disorders. He has also authored three textbooks, 70 peer-reviewed publications, and around 20 book chapters. He teaches both neurology and medical ethics at the Feinberg School of Medicine and directs postgraduate sleep medicine education modules for a variety of departments. His research interests include sleep disorders in women as well as public health aspects of sleep.
