Dr Hongbo Duan

Environmental Economics

Dr. Duan is an associate professor at the School of Economics & Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (China), also a visiting professor at the Department of Economics, University of Kansas (USA) from January 2018 to January 2019. His research interests focus on Energy & Environmental Economics, integrated assessment modeling, and climate policy analysis. His projects include establishment and development of 3E-integrated model at both global and national levels, analysis of long-term energy demand and CO2 emissions, integrated assessment of China’s climate vulnerability and damages, and policy exploration of clean energy technological diffusion.

Dr. Duan is the leading developer of the famous 3E-integrated model, E3METL and CE3METL, which are important modelmembers of CEMF (China Energy Modeling Forum); He has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers on famous international journals, such as Ecological Economics, Energy Journal, Energy Economics, Environmental Modeling & Assessment and Journal of Business Research. Dr. Duan is referees of many top journals, like Nature, Nature Climate Change, Energy Journal, Energy Economics and Ecological Economics, etc.; he also serves as associate editor, guest editor and editorial board member for around ten peer-reviewed journals, including Energy Economics, Applied Energy, Regional Environmental Change. His research has been financially supported by many key governmental sectors, such as NSFC, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Development Research Center (DRC) of State Council, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
