Heng Liu is Associate Professor at Lingnan College, Sun Yat-sen University, China, where he also serves as the academic director of the joint MS program in International Business with McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, USA, and ESADE Business School, Spain. He received his PhD from the School of Management at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China.
He is a member of the editorial review board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Management, and a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. His research area covers the interface issues between strategy and entrepreneurship, with a particular recent focus on exploring issues like alliance, bricolage, networking, international venturing and strategic issues in emerging contexts.
He has published in leading academic journals like the Journal of Operations Management, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the Journal of International Marketing, the Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, the Management and Organization Review, and the Journal of Knowledge Management, among others.
He has also received several best paper awards from the Academy of Management and other academic institutions, and has written a book related to corporate innovation in Guangdong, China. He is also an expert for several funded projects from the NSFC (National Science Foundation of China), and has provided training and consultancy in strategic management and entrepreneurship to various organizations.
