Dr Eyüp Artvinli studied geography at Karadeniz Technical University, Tukey. He is currently Full Professor in the Faculty of Education at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Turkey, and is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Review of International Geographical Education Online (RIGEO), an international online, refereed geographical education journal.

After working for nine years as a geography teacher in different high schools, Eyüp worked as a commission member on the Board of Education at the Ministry of Education in Ankara before he began work at Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2008. His main focus areas are teacher education, curricula in high schools, textbooks, active learning, teacher training, digital geography education, and GIS in schools in geography. He is the author of the research book entitled Teacher Training in Geography in Turkey/ Pre-Service and In-Service Needs Analysis and several chapters in various books about human geography and geography education.

Eyüp works as a project manager and Erasmus coordinator of the Faculty of Education at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, and joins international symposiums and events as chair and coordinator. He is also the founder of the electronic listserv Turkish Geography Teachers Association, which has managed since 2004, and he leads a very active group of more than 4,000 members for geography academicians and geography teachers in Turkey.
