Dr Ewa Ziemba completed her PhD and postdoctoral research in management, with a major focus on management information systems. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Economics, Katowice, Poland. Her current research focuses on information systems and technologies for management and sustainable development.
She has published over 160 peer-reviewed papers, and has authored three books and edited another 15. Her recent books are Towards a sustainable information society. People, business and public administration perspectives (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2016), Sustainable information society (University of Economics in Katowice, 2017), Information technology for management (Springer, 2016), and Information technology for management. New ideas and real solutions (Springer, 2017). She has played an instrumental role in a number of prestigious Polish and international research projects.
Ewa actively works in the international scientific community. She serves on the editorial boards of several international journals, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economics and Management and the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Applied Knowledge Management. She is the Vice President for Research Collaborations of the International Institute for Applied Knowledge Management.
Ewa has received numerous awards for her research and teaching, including the award of Fellow and Distinguished Scholar and the Excellence in Research & Scholarship Award from the International Institute for Applied Knowledge Management. She also received the Excellent Awards from the President of the University of Economics in Katowice, the Silver Cross of Merit from the President of Poland, the Medal of the National Education Commission from the Ministry of National Education in Poland, the Golden Medal for Long-standing Service from the President of Poland, and several best paper awards.
