Dr Eleonora Federici obtained her MA and PhD from the University of Hull, UK, and is currently Associate Professor of English and Translation Studies at the University of Naples "L'Orientale", Italy. Her areas of research are translation studies, gender studies, English varieties and LSP. Among her publications are The Translator as Intercultural Mediator (2006), Nations, Traditions and Cross-Cultural Identities (with A. Lamarra, 2010), Translating Gender (2011), Bridging the Gap between Theory and Practice in Translation and Gender Studies (with V. Leonardi, 2013) and Quando la fantascienza è donna. Dalle utopie del XIX secolo all’età contemporanea (2015), as well as the recent monographic issues of Voices in Italian Americana on Italian Diaspora Studies (with F. Gardaphé, 2016) and of the Rivista dell’Associazione di teoria e Storia Comparata della Letteratura on Forms, Strategies and Mutations of Serial Narrative (with A. Bernardelli and G. Rossini, 2016).
