Dr Barbara Braid

Dr Barbara Braid is Assistant Lecturer at the Institute of English, Szczecin University, Poland. She received her doctoral degree from Opole University, Poland, and her dissertation concerned the female madness motif in selected Victorian and neo-Victorian novels, discussed from the perspective of gender performativity theory. She has published a number of articles and book chapters on neo-Victorianism and gothic, and her interests also include feminisms and gender studies, trauma theory, hauntology and feminist disability studies. She is currently co-editing two essay collections on gender studies.
