Dr Arindam Chaudhuri is a principal data scientist with Samsung R & D Institute in Delhi, India. He has worked in industry, research and teaching in artificial intelligence and machine learning for the past 17 years. His current research interests include artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning, soft computing and optimization algorithms.
He received his MTech and PhD in Computer Science from Jadavpur University, India and Netaji Subhas University, India in 2005 and 2011 respectively. He has published three research monographs and over 45 articles in international journals and conference proceedings. He has served as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.
Arindam has used common machine learning tools such as artificial neural networks, support vector machines, deep learning networks, clustering, genetic algorithms and evolutionary computing with basic mathematical foundations of probability theory, fuzzy sets, rough sets, possibility theory and a variation of these towards several traditional engineering problems. All these problems were specified through huge and large datasets encompassing trillions of records which required a challenging data and predictive analytics framework.
He has also integrated various machine learning tools to form different soft computing frameworks such as neuro-fuzzy, fuzzy-genetic, neuro-genetic, rough-neuro-fuzzy-genetic, fuzzy-rough etc. He has successfully applied these techniques towards different categories of industrial problems such as decision theory, time series forecasting and prediction, image compression, sentiment analysis, recommendation systems, social networks analytics, etc. to achieve better results in terms of accuracy, precision, robustness, and computational speed.
