Dr Anshu Gupta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Higher Education, Jammu and Kashmir, India. She is also Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences at General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi, India.
She graduated from the Government Degree College Udhampur, India, and received her Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Jammu, India. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, defending her work on “Physico-chemical characterization and Toxicological evaluation of Municipal solid waste leachates from major landfill sites in Delhi”.
Her areas of research interest include solid waste management, ground water pollution and management, ecotoxicology and sustainable landfilling. She has been working in these areas for the last eight years. She has also been awarded with the UGC-JRF (2008-10) and UGC-SRF (2010-2012).
Anshu has published several book chapters and research papers in international and national journals of repute. She has also published two books in the areas of solid waste management and environmental impact assessments.
She has participated in various national and international conferences and presented posters as well as papers in India and abroad. She has also attended various workshops and training programs in the fields of ground water and waste management, and has been an organising committee member of several national and international conferences.
