Dr Alison Sahhar was in the graduating class of the dentistry program at La Trobe University, Australia, in 2012. She was awarded the final year academic prize in dentistry. She has had strong involvement with the Australian Dental Association's Victorian Branch (ADAVB), serving as chair of the recent graduates and students committee and as a member of the CPD committee.
Following her graduation, Alison returned to La Trobe University through a preclinical and clinical demonstrator teaching appointment for dentistry students. After working in rural Australia for three years as a general dentist she commenced the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics specialty program at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Alison is currently finalising a higher degree of research by completing a randomised controlled trial on the topic of retention following orthodontic treatment.
