Dr Alessandra Giumlia-Mair


AGM Archeoanalisi

Alessandra Giumlia-Mair is currently working at AGM Archeoanalisi, Merano (BZ), Italy, and received her PhD from the University of Vienna. She also holds a MSc from the University of London, and has lived and worked in Austria, Great Britain, Germany, and Italy since 1999. More specifically, she was Professor in Archaeomettallurgy and Archaeometry at the University of Salzburg, Austria, and at Trieste and Udine in Italy, between 1992 and 2005.

She has participated in several international projects on objects and collections of important institutions, and in 2000 founded the laboratory AGM Archeoanalisi, which specialises in archaeometric analyses. Alessandra has current projects in collaboration with the Institute of Aegean Studies (INSTAP), Philadelphia, USA on Cretan metallurgy, Soprintendenza Archeologica della Toscana, Firenze, Italy, on Roman materials; the Hungarian National Museum of Budapest on Avaric materials, and with the University of Louvain, Belgium, on Late Antique metallurgy.
