Dr Ajay Veer Singh

Dr Ajay Veer Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, India. He has more than 12 years of experience in teaching, research and extension. During this period he has taught 10 courses and guided more than 10 students at postgraduate level. In 2014, he was awarded with the Research Award by the University Grants Commission for two years.

Ajay has published more than 40 research publications including research abstracts, peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and articles. He has attended various national and international conferences and workshops and presented more than 15 research papers. He has also published one book for competitive examination in the field of agricultural microbiology.

His research interests include plant growth rromotory rhizobacteria (PGPR), rhizosphere microbiology, zinc solubilizing bacteria, siderophore producing bacteria and abiotic stress management. Presently, Ajay is working on plant growth promotory rhizobacteria (PGPR) and is interested in utilizing the potential of these rhizobacteria for zinc (Zn) and Iron (Fe) bioforification in staple food crops through an environmentally friendly sustainable approach.
