Professor Abdulhamit Subasi

Dr Abdulhamit Subasi graduated from Hacettepe University, Turkey, in 1990. He took his MSc degree from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, in 1993, and his PhD degree from Sakarya University, Turkey, in 2001, all in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

From 2001 until 2009 he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam University, Turkey. Between 2004 and 2006 he was a Senior Researcher in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. He has also served as a visiting Assistant Professor at the International University of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, from 2008 to 2009.

He was appointed as an Associate Professor of Information Technology at the International Burch University, Bosnia-Herzegovina, in 2009. He was the Dean of the university's Engineering Faculty from 2009 to 2013, and was appointed as a Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2012. Since 2015, he has been working as a Professor of Computer Science at Effat University, Saudi Arabia.

Abdulhamit's areas of interest are data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition, biomedical signal/image processing, Smart Healthcare, IoT, Big Data, cybersecurity, computer networks and security. He has worked on several projects related to biomedical signal processing and pattern classification, and has served as a program organizing committee member of national and international conferences.

He is an editorial board member of several scientific journals, and voluntarily serves as a technical publication reviewer for many respected scientific journals and conferences. He has more than 110 published journal and conference papers on his research areas to his name, with over 1,700 ISI Web of Science citations and 3,600 Google citations.
