Abdul Rasheed War is currently working as a scientist with the World Vegetable Center, South Asia, based at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) campus, Hyderabad, India. He has ten years’ research experience in different areas of entomology such as host plant resistance, insect-plant interactions, tri-trophic interactions, insect rearing, biological control, plant secondary metabolites and IPM. He has worked as a postdoctoral research associate and visiting scientist at the Centre for Excellence in Climate Change, and as an entomologist with Mahindra Agri. Solutions Ltd, Mumbai. He has published about 35 research papers in national and international journals, and has several book chapters to his credit. In addition, he has presented his research work at many national and international conferences, and serves on the editorial board of many jjournals.
Abdul has also received several awards, which include the Resource Mobiliser Award by ICRISAT in 2014, the BRPM Gold Medal for the Best Research from the Academy of Environmental Biology, Lucknow in 2012, and the Young Scientist Fellowship Award by the Department of Science and Technology, administered by the Government of India, in 2013. He is an active reviewer of many national and international journals in insect and plant biology.
