The Modelling of University Processes through Intuitionistic Fuzzy Evaluations

Fundamentally, this book introduces the reader to some aspects of digital literacy which are far more than the muscular vernacular of the new social media. It is based on the idea that it is not enough for educational administrators to purchase the latest technology if they have no idea of the range and scope of the hardware, on the one hand, or of the logical processes underlying the choice, iteration and execution of the software, on the other. Generalized nets marry the soft approximations of humans with the hard precision of the computer.

Evdokia N. Sotirova received her MSc in Computer Systems and Technologies from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1994, and her PhD in Computer Sciences from Burgas “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov” University, Bulgaria, in 2004. She is a member of the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems and the Vice-Dean of Education Process in the Faculty of Public Health and Health Care at Burgas “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov” University. Her research interests include fuzzy logic, generalized nets (extensions of Petri nets), data mining, and algorithms.

Anthony G. Shannon is an Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at the University of Technology Sydney, where he received the higher doctorate (DSc) for research into the interdisciplinary contributions to the diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus, although his first doctorate (PhD) was in number theory under the supervision of the late Alwyn Horadam at the University of New England, Australia. He has an honorary doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Australia, where he served as Deputy Chancellor, and from the European Polytechnical University, Bulgaria.

Krassimir T. Atanassov received his PhD, his Doctor of Technical (Computer) Science, and his Doctor of Mathematical Sciences from Sofia University, Bulgaria. Since 1998, he has served as a Full Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics and Mathematical Modelling of the Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is the author of over 800 journal articles, 300 conference reports, and 36 books.
