"Controversies in Medicine and Neuroscience: Through the Prism of History, Neurobiology, and Bioethics (2023) is well worth reading and studying. It should be standard on all doctor’s bookshelves and among the interested laymen."

Insights into the Pharmaceutical and Clinical Applications of Nanoparticles in Cancer Therapy

Healthcare has long been on a quest for a ‘magic bullet’ to cure the dreaded disease cancer. As this book shows, nanoparticles perfectly fit the bill with their promising characteristics. Meticulously engineered nanostructures, with a useful drug or molecule, target a specific cancer in unique ways. However, as with many targeted systems, the effectiveness of the system needs to be weighed against the adverse effects. The toxicity of nanoparticles has been a worldwide concern, and evidence-based medicine analyses nanostructures for proof of safety and their efficacy in killing cancer cells. This book gives a fresh perspective on a wealth of diverse nanotechnological advances for various cancers.

Dr Sheba R. David obtained her PhD from Jadavpur University, India. She has previously worked as a postdoctoral scientist in laser-assisted transdermal drug delivery system techniques at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and as a Senior Assistant Professor at the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences of the Universiti Brunei Darussalam. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy of the University of Wyoming, USA. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, and is the author of the book Biology and Ecology of Pharmaceutical Marine Life: Echinoderms. She is also the co-author of two chapters in the books Encyclopedia of Marine Biotechnology and Nanotechnology: Therapeutic, Nutraceutical and Cosmetic Advances.

A prolific researcher with a span of more than 12 years in designing and analysing novel drug delivery systems for cancer, Dr Rajan Rajabalaya patented his research idea with USPTO. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers on drug delivery, and is the co-author of a book.
