Theo C. Haupt is a South African National Research Foundation-rated Research Professor in the Faculty of Engineering of Mangosuthu University of Technology in South Africa. He has been involved in health and safety practice and research for several years, and holds a PhD focusing on alternative approaches to managing health and safety in construction. He has authored and edited several books and published over 200 research articles. He is heavily involved in the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) Work Commission W99 (Safety and Health in Construction) and has served on the Advisory Council for Occupational Health and Safety of the South African Minister of Labour.
