"[Genetically Modified Organisms: A Scientific-Political Dialogue on a Meaningless Meme] is an excellent book presenting a very strong case for abandoning the acronym GMO. It will be extremely helpful to scholars and educators in developing countries who need to persuade their populace and politicians to adopt modern methods to reap the benefits of more nutritious foods and greatly improved yields."

English Writings from Northeast India: Of Inclusions, Exclusions and Beyond

This volume explores a number of works written in English from the Northeast region of India. It analyses the problematics of the issues of ethnicity, identity, migration, insurgency and what life means in the borderlands, as made evident in select writings which are a product of ongoing conflicts both inside and outside the region. These English-language writings are not only voices from the periphery which try to answer back to the mainstream, but are also attempts at retrospection and relooking at one’s own history.

Dr Priyanka Kakoti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English of DCB Girls’ College, Jorhat, Assam, India.
