Reinforced Concrete Design: Fundamentals and Practical Examples
This book provides the reader with the fundamentals of analysis and design of reinforced concrete (RC) elements, together with elements’ reinforcement details, in a simple way. The book provides a valuable design guide for undergraduate civil and architectural engineering students. It can also act as a resource for recent graduates and practicing engineers. Throughout the book, the presented design procedures for structural elements provide a roadmap which enables students and practicing engineers to create their own programming codes to increase the productivity of their design practice.
Sayed Mahmoud is a faculty member of the College of Engineering at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, where he has served as an assistant and associate professor, and is currently a full professor of structural and earthquake engineering. He completed his undergraduate education at Helwan University, Egypt, his master’s degree at Assiut University, Egypt, and his PhD at Hirosaki University, Japan. He received two postdoctoral fellowships: one from Sweden at Lund University’s Structural Mechanics Department, and the second was from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to study at Hokkaido University’s Lab of Bridge and Earthquake Engineering. He is responsible for teaching several structural engineering courses, including reinforced concrete design, for both undergraduate and graduate students.
