They also utilise a variety of research methods, such as surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, and field studies.


Dr Nicos Souleles has worked as an academic in Higher Education since 1995, and has taught at the University of Western Sydney, Liverpool College of Further Education, and KvB Institute of Technology in Australia, Cumbria Institute of the Arts, England, the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and Cyprus University of Technology. During this time, he has developed and co-ordinated a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in art and design, refereed articles for academic journals, and served as external examiner at the Department of Innovation Studies of the University of East London from 2001 to 2004 and at the International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC) at Liverpool John Moores University from 2005 to 2008. In 2011, he founded the research group “Art + Design: elearning lab” (www.elearningartdesign.org). His research interests focus on educational research and technology-enhanced learning in art and design. He has been the Chair of the steering committee for iPads in Higher Education (www.ipadsinhe.org) since 2014.

Claire Pillar is an editor, based in Cyprus, with particular research interests in health and medicine. In Australia, she worked at the Royal Blind Society and the National Breast Cancer Centre, while in the United Kingdom, she worked for the Centre for Health Information Quality, the National Health Service in North Cumbria and the Institution of Civil Engineers North West.
